10 Makeup Must Haves
Sometimes, nothing makes you feel more put together than a fresh face of makeup - now, that isn’t to say that we need to wear makeup to feel put together or to feel pretty. Sometimes actually getting up and putting on makeup just makes me feel so accomplished and ready to take on the day!
This blog is for the makeup lover on a budget. I am no stranger to splurging; however for me, splurging means purchasing makeup that is anything over twenty dollars.
Here is a list of my top 10 high quality makeup products that won’t break your budget! (please note* I have sensitive skin & none of these products have ever made me break out.)
I was introduced to the FLOWER beauty collection by a close friend of mine. FLOWER is a company created by Drew Barrymore, & because I love her I just knew I had to give it a try. I purchased two items from this brand that I have been raving about to everyone I know.
This palette is everything & it’s only $16! This palette has good pigmentation and this amazing shimmery quality that I just can’t get over. I purchased the ‘Warm Natural’ palette shade & I have found it to be so versatile because of its blush & neutral colors! If neutral colors aren’t your thing, this palette comes in 3 other shades!
This has been my go to lip product since the day I purchased it. The Mix N’ Matte Lip Duo is the perfect combination of products. To explain, the Lip Duo is two sided, one side has a matte lipstick & the other side has this amazing shimmery gloss that makes your lips look plumped up and sparkling. This product can give you a more subdued look by just using the matte lipstick or a bubbly & light look by just using the gloss. Pair both ends of the Lip Duo and you have a killer glam look. My go to shades are Honey Nude & Tickled Pink!
BONUS: I just found out that they now carry FLOWER Beauty at Ulta! Or, if you still want to shop online, you get 15% off of your first purchase & free shipping on orders over $30!

3. Maybelline Concealer $6.99
This is a drug store product that I use regularly. Most concealers that are found in drug stores are usually pretty light coverage because they only set you back about 8 dollars or so; however, there is one concealer that stands out among the rest & it is the Maybelline Fit Me Concealer. This concealer provides a good medium coverage and is totally affordable!
4. NYX Tame & Frame Tinted Brow Pomade $6.99
I love this product. It is the most affordable & effective brow product I have found at the drug store level. I always have a container of this on hand & I use it every single day to tame my brows!. Keep in mind that this product does not come with an applicator or wand for the pomade!

5. Eco Tools Bamboo Six Piece Brush Set $9.98
This is also a really great drug store find! You can most likely find this set at your local Walgreens or CVS (I see them there all of the time!) The brushes are so soft and apply and blend my makeup so well. Bonus: the brush set includes a great variety of five brushes & one super cute bag to store them all in! These brushes are the perfect budget friendly option to add to your makeup collection!

As far as good facial moisturizers go, this one is a steal! I have been using Clinique moisturizer for about a year now and I swear by it. I have very sensitive skin and have been looking for a brand that will not make me break out (and believe me I have tried high end brands like Too Faced just to name one & I was a total breakout mess!) They also offer this moisturizer with a lot of their promotions as a travel size option. It can be found at a multitude of stores such as: Macy’s (this is where I usually go), Sephora, Ulta or the Clinique website of course! I have always had the smaller lotion and it lasts me months. This moisturizer is gentle on skin and all at a friendly price!
So we all know that moisturizing is extremely important right? Well, if you are looking for something to soothe those dry lips of yours than look no more! You NEED to try this chapstick because it is life changing. A friend told me about this product last year and I now use it religiously! I have applied it multiple times a day (every day) for months now and it still has yet to run out (I dread the day that it will eventually run out but we won’t talk about that…)
It is dual ended with one side for during the day application & the other side for nighttime application.
So what’s the difference you ask? Well, the daytime side has SPF infused into it so it will protect those lips of yours from those ever present UV rays. This is especially handy during the summer because, I don’t know about you, but my lips are the part of me that burns the most in the summertime & I cannot stand the feeling of it!
The nighttime side of this chapstick is all about hydration and soothing your lips from all of the exposure they received during the daylight hours.
If you purchase anything from this list, let it be this chapstick - you will never regret it.

Now this one is pricey, but this brand has become my go-to brand for higher end makeup. I absolutely love the Fenty line that Rhianna has created. The line is so diverse and the quality of the product is superb. The foundation from this line was everything I was looking for when I entered Sephora one day with the intent of stepping up my foundation game. I was looking for something that was high coverage but not too cakey on my skin. This foundation is such a high coverage but it doesn’t appear that way (if that makes sense?) It makes your skin looks so smooth but it barely looks like you even have foundation on at all! If you are looking for a high coverage foundation, I highly recommend that you give Fenty a try!
Yes, there is another Fenty product on this list. I realized shortly after purchasing my Fenty foundation that if I was going to step up my foundation game I should probably step up my setting powder game alongside it. I had been using a drug store setting powder with my Fenty foundation and I felt like it was taking away from the quality of the Fenty foundation - not that there is anything wrong with drug store setting powder, you know I am all for a good deal, but mixing the two just wasn't working. This setting powder is a pressed powder & its very light on the face while at the same time providing great overall coverage. It helps to keep my makeup locked in and my foundation looking fabulous all day long. It is well worth the price!

10. Aromatherapy Stress Relief Body Lotion $13.50
I know that this isn’t technically a “makeup product” but it is moisturizer, which is very important in the makeup world, so I definitely wanted to make sure I included this one. This lotion is from Bath & Body Works & I love it! You wouldn’t think that just the smell of a lotion could relax you, but it’s true, it can, because this one totally does the trick. But the scent of this lotion isn’t the only great thing about it - it’s rich quality eases any dryness or irritation you might be experiencing with your skin; however, don’t confuse the word “rich” with the word “greasy!” I hat greasy body lotions that claim to be “rich” and never are - but this one is a light & rich drink that your skin will thank you for!
